Küsnacht Scenery Walk #1

Posted on: 25.Feb 2017

One of my favourite walks through the “Küsnachter Tobel” ( Wikipedia ) and Itschnach bypassing some large villas with an interesting architecture and a spectacular view of the Alps.

Küsnachter Tobel (literally: Küsnacht gorge) is a small river canyon respective gorge on the southwestern slope of the Pfannenstiel mountain in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

The walk will bypass the following attractions

Dragon Cave

The myth-enshrouded dragon cave.

Rockfall 2014

In April 2014, a rock fall of a 250 tons stone took place. The six-meter-high Nagelfluh-Brocken came to a halt near the Dorfbach practically on the footpath. Nobody got hurt.

Big Falls

My favourite “big” falls in the Tobel, are always a fantastic scenery, be it in the summer …

… or winter …

View of the Alps

In the last quarter of the round trip you will get a gorgeous view of the Swiss Alps (if the weather condition permits), with the Zurich See lake in front.
